IRON MAIDEN Among Guests At Former LED ZEPPELIN Guitarist's Charity Party
December 17, 2002Former LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page and other music and film celebrities came out to celebrate UK charity Task Brasil's 10 years of commitment to improving the plight of street children in Brazil. Gibson Guitar and Baldwin Piano sponsored the Christmas Samba Party together with Task Brasil and Action for Brazil's Children at the Elysium, Café Royal in London on Monday, Dec. 2.
Page hosted the festivities with guests including members of IRON MAIDEN, Enrique Iglesias, film director Michael Moore, TV actress Michelle Collins, Lionel Richie, Lord Edward Spencer Churchill, Mick Hucknall (SIMPLY RED's former frontman),and race car driver Damon Hill, among others.
"Every time I go to Brazil and spend time with the children, it reinforces in me the knowledge that our work there is absolutely necessary," Page explained. "We do change lives and can bring real hope and happiness. This party doesn't just mark those achievements, it's also a chance to spread the work and find new friends for the charities."
